1 week after the online That's Surf West

Posted by RIWmag on 18 Dec 2017 /

After a week of online mass “That's Surf West” Federico Infantino (Goya, Quatro, MaverX, Al360, MFC, Flymount, Gopro) allows some web magazines, including RIWmag, You can project his film even on their pages (video at the bottom of this article). This and’ was an opportunity to RIWmag to join him to make an initial assessment of this project.

RIW: Ciao Federico. In the last two years we have followed step by step the development of this work without being able to really imagine what you could really treat ( www.riwmag.com/?s = % E2% 80% 99s That Surf West ). 30 minutes of non stop action from some of the best wave riders in the world with both the windsurfers who with surfboard, In addition to beautiful sequences of Australian Wildlife. After more’ two years of work to your girlfriend and Mack on this project I honestly what were your expectations?
Federico Infantino: Over the years my passion for video editing has grown very. During my first year in Australia had created a blog on my website that I kept up to date with the various stages around the Western Australia, but it was not enough to really describe the place where I was! So is playing some sort of personal challenge in which my girlfriend Elisa came right away to join with an essential contribution.

I had set 2 years of project. It wasn't a simple video of 4/5 minutes, It was a real documentary by more than 30 minutes which was to convey emotions telling a story without boring. Expectation? Sincerely, I knew he would come something nice, but when the job's done and after seeing 10000 times I kept getting goose bumps! The expectations were exceeded.

RIW: What were the reactions and comments collected?
TE: The movie was available for viewing only on my website to date and has been around the world, the reactions were more than positive coming even to be compared to the new film by Kai Lenny. The applause of the legends of this sport attending the world premiere in Maui have earned more than 1000 comments.

RIW: What’ was the greatest moment’ hard on this project and how did you manage to overcome it?
TE: The most difficult moment was when I had to face the various copyright laws, the real goal was to create a dvd and starting a worldwide sales, but with data in hand and not having a Sponsor that would herald the money I was simply unable to address the issue, the return would never repaid the expenses.

At that point I decided to forgo the sale, use music of the highest level and to create something that remained in my story: a contribution to the world of windsurfing and Western Australia that was once the mecca of the sport and who now struggles to see more of 10 water users in more "tame", good thing for the local but negative for the future of the sport.

RIW: What’ was the greatest moment’ great thing about this project and why?
TE: Good times there were many. After shooting at whales in the desert I realized quickly that the film would be from goosebumps. But the emotions experienced during the premiere in Maui during the Aloha Classic with friends and the presence of the greatest legends of the sport than standing clapped for several minutes does come at a price!

RIW: One week after its release online on the web and have been around the virtual world the target audience from all continents that budget you can take?
TE: The trailer for the Film only on the official Facebook page has brought the following data:
20thousand views
over 200 like
over 200 shares
64thousand people reached

The worldwide interest we created and at the time it was ben who repaid getting almost 5000 play in a week without the help of big media that from now on will definitely have a great contribution. Vimeo Plus brings up only publicly displaying completed, other data coming into my account, So guys beware of even the end credits, you control!

RIW: At this point, what are your future plans and goals windsurfistici?
TE: Now we're back in WA where we applied for Permanent Visa that, Once approved, will give us the opportunity to be much freer in terms of working back to wander around the world with access to life in Australia.
Elisa has established his business a few years Gerard Margaret River Design, That's Surf West is giving a decisive turning point in terms of future business because we will be working as "resume" for future video projects.

Windsurfistici Objectives: focus on the Margaret River Wave Classic 2018 in February, After Gnaraloo and Maui I am training most days in water at Margaret River and I must say that I feel in shape, last year I just missed the podium by finishing in the final to 4th place on equal points with Scott Mckercher in 3° position, This year let's see what happens!
A huge Thanks to all those who have been following the project from the beginning and to all those who sent us messages and positive feedback and of course to RIWmag for the constant support.
