Calendario Freestyle Pro Tour 2023: 20 years, 20 events
The Freestyle Pro Tour is pleased to announce the official calendar of events 2023 for its 20th anniversary. This year's tour is packed with events at all levels, in all disciplines and around the world. Thanks to Tow-in and Foilstyle, Events can take place in any condition, ensuring world-class action at every location. The calendar also introduces the Proving Grounds series, as well as continuing the Tour's commitment to the women's fleet.

Our mission is to open the doors of accessibility to sport, create a clear path and at the same time support the radical action of high-level professionals. We are pleased to present a complete star rating system, expanding our existing operations and providing opportunities for all. I'm proud of our team and the effort put into the winter months as we see the freestyle discipline of windsurfing take a big leap forward.. Staff commitment to sport in these last difficult years is always prevalent when we see giant strides with a series of revolutionary results for sport.”

In 2023 we see FPT going global, Crossing Europe's borders with new tour events. This comes with a new classification system at 10 stars that allows opportunities at all levels. Starting with the Proving Grounds series (1-5 stars), The tour aligns with national events and supports the future of the sport. Let's move on to the Continental Series (6-8 stars) which sees the improvement of consolidated events and the addition of new events. Finally, the Championship Series (9-10 stars) will see the best of the best compete for the title of Freestyle Pro Tour Champion. All events will bring points in the standings, with separate series and combined champions to be crowned at the end of the season.
Here are all the events currently scheduled for this year. In addition, in the interest of maximizing confirmed events, FPT hides other potential events that could occur. This also means greater commitment from event organizers., with more certainty about the planning of the event. An updated calendar will be released on 14 February.
Proving Grounds Series
With the introduction of the brand new Proving Grounds series, the Freestyle Pro Tour aims to create a clear structure within the discipline of freestyle. Joining local freestyle events around the world will make it easier for aspiring freestylers to try their hand at competing and meet other ambitious riders.. These events are all about being fun and flexible, making entry into the competitive freestyle scene as accessible as possible. FPT is committed to supporting these local freestyle events everywhere, with the firm belief that this is the way to grow our sport.
The legendary German Freestyle Battles have joined the FPT, as well as the Danish Open and the Japanese Windsurf Association among other individual events in countries such as Poland and Morocco. This path will also strengthen the foundations of the Continental Series, which is always based on events of historical success. When it comes to calculating fair rankings, no more than the first 3 Proving Grounds Series event results matter to each individual (if you participate in 3 or multiple events) for international tour rankings purposes. More details will be available in the updated regulation coming out soon. FPT will continue to crown continental champions, together with Tour champions in all disciplines and absolute champion of All Disciplines Freestyle Pro Tour.
Foilstyle and Tow-in
Freestyle disciplines evolve allowing action to take place anytime, anywhere, regardless of the strength of the wind. Foilstyle gets a huge boost as there are more events added to the calendar, often together with regular Freestyle or Tow-in events. The diversity of disciplines allows freestylers of all shapes and sizes to find their place on the tour and chase the title that suits their love of the sport.

The new season will kick off with the Proving Grounds Series event in Cape Town, in addition to the celebration of the season 2022 with FPT Awards', both scheduled for the end of January.
