DUOTONE E_PACE SLS: CAMBER-FREE PERFORMANCE

The SLS E_PACE is the result of a very ambitious project that required 2 years of intensive development.
Based on the original E_PACE, Very versatile sailing, the goal for the SLS version was to get a more racing feel with improved acceleration and power.. Following the SLS philosophy, The goal was to create an extremely light No-cam freerace wing, without sacrificing durability.


A more advanced loading area gives the SLS E_PACE a feeling of speed very similar to that of the S_PACE or WARP. To prevent this from favoring or creating a tendency to catapult, Balumina is slightly more open, which also improves pen control (= V-max).
The intelligent use of XPLY CARBON in the areas of greater lift of the boss and pen allows to convert wind energy into forward propulsion in the most effective way.
However, using standard XPLY (slightly more elastic) in the sail body prevents the power from becoming uncontrollable.


A feature common to many freerace no-cam wings is that they significantly compromise performance at the lower limit in search of maximum speed.. To avoid this, the pre-shaping of the sail has been increased., which improves acceleration and power despite the more open balumina.


Another notable result of the intense development is the reduction in the weight of 500 g, which makes the SLS E_Pace extremely light. This result has been achieved thanks to the MONOBLOC POCKET and the single-layer reinforcement patches that replace the usual ones 5 layers. However, The thickness of the panels has not been reduced, so the SLS E_PACE has a high weight/strength ratio, supported by the GUARANTEE OF 5 YEARS of DUOTONE house.
Attention:

    1. Increased pre-shaping requires higher sheet tension than the original E_PACE (CA. 2 cm more eyelet tension = 8 extra cm of rope tension). This additional pre-shaping also means that the lower slats of the SLS E_PACE do not rotate as easily as in the original PACE E_ under non-gliding/drifting conditions.. In other words, SLS E_PACE requires a more active jibe technique on the boss
    2. Because the SLS E_PACE is a more powerful wing than the original E_PACE, has a smaller range of low charger adjustment.
