Nago-Torbole (TN) - In Torbole, on Garda Trentino, After 19 tests ended the Formula Foil World Championship, event organized by Circolo Surf Torbole in collaboration with the IWA International class, Italian Sailing Federation and Garda Trentino Vela Consortium.
The first days were full of strong winds, while the finale was characterized by thunderstorms in the area, who first alerted the organizers, reducing the number of races on Tuesday and then bringing back north wind in the morning, although of rather mild intensity, but enough to finish on the last day of competitions at least one test with 13-16 knots of wind, which subsequently fell suddenly.
After a Championship always run as a leader, the French Nicolas Goyard confirmed himself as world champion, now undisputed champion among iQFoil, PWA and Formula Foil, after winning practically all the most important regattas of the specialty in the last two years. The President of the Circolo Surf Torbole Armando Bronzes:"A good Championship closes, which offered strong wind conditions, but also lighter as in the last two days, giving everyone the opportunity to express themselves at their best.
Nineteen regattas are a nice result; the organization is well coordinated with the International class, the Regatta Committee and Jury of the Italian Sailing Federation.
I am also very satisfied with the result of the Circolo Surf Torbole team, that in a few months has made an almost unexpected improvement with the foil boards, winning the youth and junior categories, as well as senior female. Congratulations to all the staff, which holds high the name of the Circolo Surf Torbole!”
