Francesco Scagliola (Patrik, P7, MaverX) with an incredible comeback ranks IFCA slalom world 2019 of Sylt to 8th place overall, first among the Italians but mostly first Youth! Here are his first impressions after this great achievement:
” and’ was a long and intense week on Sylt for Ifca World Championship, which saw participate well 64 athletes from all over the world.
My preparations for dellévento and’ been great: having already’ experience in the waters of Sylt I felt more’ efficient train differently than usual, then trying to exploit conditions of sea and wind made it all more’ hard.
Like almost every year we used sails from 5.6 the 9.2, in conditions ranging from offshore wind 10 wind knots over the 35 onshore nodes.
The level of the athletes was certainly very high: the fact that there were no races of Pwa concurrently has enabled many athletes to participate.
The first day of racing for me has been very dramatic: two mistakes in the race did not allow me to access the semifinals, and then of I resulted around the 25th position.
In the following days instead … azzecando many departures and trying to give the best of myself I managed to make three finals winners that I was then allowed to come eighth overall and first youth.
One thing I would like to clarify and’ that the absolute world does not release any title in the category youth, for that we will battle in the waters of The Tranche in’ West of France in’ last week of June.
Pulling the conclusions I would like to thank my sponsors who provide me the material at the top to be super competitive and my father for his continnuo support that gives me and i invite all boys to take part in the upcoming events of the circuit Ifca since together the Aicw class are a great springboard to aspire to become professionals.”
