Spot, Different riding conditions and styles make it really difficult to develop a high-level wave board … but the QT-WAVE is Patrik's answer for those who want to travel light and try their hand at any wind and wave condition.
The 5 Sadek (1x US, 4x Slots) allow you to configure the board as Singlefin, Twinser, Trailer, Tri-Fin, Thruster, Quad and even Quad Trailer (5Fin). With all these options you can perfectly adapt the QT-Wave to your riding style and the type of waves of the spot.
Appearance & Footpads
With the new graphics influenced by the Italian designer Fabio Canella, a colorful but always sober table design has been created. The diamond groove pad, often 6 mm), It is equipped with an additional foam foam foam sponge substrate 6 mm), for a total of 12 mm). This particular pad pattern takes advantage of the rigid layer to distribute the load over a larger surface of the board through the soft bottom layer. In this way a greater resistance to impacts is achieved, while maintaining high sensitivity under your feet.
Shape, In & Outline
Balanced and graceful. Hand shaped. After thousands of shaped boards, the experience and precision of Patrik Diethelm shaper easily surpass any CNC machining software. The result is a perfect shape with a beautifully fluid profile. The wider front section provides sufficient lift in the bow area to glide early and to allow you to hit the water after. The narrow stern provides a feeling of power when moving the board from one rail to another to enjoy maximum grip in tight turns. Choose between carving with splashing water or sliding and new tricks on the wave: This board will never stand in the way.
Scoop-Rocker and hull profile
The new concept of ‘Single into double concave into vee‘ of this board creates a greater rocker on the rail line while keeping a moderate rocker in the center. This way you get the best of both worlds: good acceleration and speed on the straight and greater response and a pleasant total sensitivity in the corners. A light tail kick under the back foot allows you to adapt the maneuvers to the wave at any time. The progressive hull shape with deeper grooves on smaller sizes for greater control connects the fast strokes with ease and launches some large sprays … the new QT can do it all.
Fins and Burglary
The QT-wave is equipped with 4 PATRIK Power wave series fins (PW). The central box US-box 8″ allows the use of larger single fins and 4 PW side breaks save weight.
Inserts
Each insert offers 4 Positions and the front straps have a double seat to be able to change the width and angle according to the different size of the foot and the style of the rider.
Volume distribution
The balanced thickness under the feet and around the shaft track is one of the key points to create a good wave allround board. A slightly domed deck allows you to keep the rails thinner and “hide” a little’ of volume at the center of the table. This also improves rigidity and resistance to breakage. Much thinner stern area offers control, grip and maneuverability.
Rails / Tuck
The round rails and the tuck starting from the bow area make the board fluid during maneuvers. Round rails give control and even more grip. Around the tree, The tucked shows a slightly more visible angle that becomes a bit’ more pronounced between the straps and ends sharply just behind the rear strap for early acceleration and top speed.
Shape of the blanket
The harmonious balance of the entire shape has been taken up in all the details. The slightly domed blanket is more rounded on the front foot for comfortable support and good grip on the straps during gliding and jumping. Flatter under the back foot for better contact with the wave.
Construction
This and’ a topic on which opinions are radically divided. At the end of the day it is the most experienced riders who prove that the type of construction of the Patrik house is destined to last over time. Carbon/Kevlar blanket is light and stiff, with good impact resistance. Biax fiberglass on the fairing provides that extra controlled flex riders love for more complex maneuvers and landings. Important fact: Biax glass, softer, Distributes the load in the 3D structure much better than a carbon hull would.. This results in better flex, Increased durability and better overall performance, while saving on production costs where it is not needed. Patrik Diethelms' knowledge of composites construction is unparalleled in the windsurfing industry. This is Patrik's style of creating sustainable yet durable products..
