2012, the dream is back:

Four years of challenges … and it is not yet over!
If we had ever predicted of what we would have to deal with over the past four years, almost certainly would have reacted with disbelief … on one side because it is precisely the difficulties of life that sometimes make us pull out resources that we were not even aware of, on the other side because honestly we would not have imagined having to deal with a sequence of well-articulated difficulties and negative coincidences …
But probably there are no coincidences … sometimes instead it is the life with its adversities to provide us with the best inspiration to figure out where to go and how to improve.
2010, the beginning of the challenge:
in a moment of extreme difficulty for “Windsurf Italia”, for nearly 30 years THE windsurf magazine in Italian history, we received the proposal to take over its contents. Take (the dream) or leave (to die the magazine)?
Easy to accept a role of such a high honor when things work … but what to do when the situation is rather negative? Why to risk sacrificing his own reputation built with careful effort over the years? After the appropriate “consultations” to form our “team” we have decided to accept as the proposal to realize our dreams does not get every day and because only by accepting the challenges we can know how far we can get. Giving up on that occasion we could only doubt for the rest of our days on end as it could have been. A winning team and a superhuman work made us able to raise up again in just three months the fate of the magazine. A rampant recovery: readers and advertisers they were now all convinced!
We needed only that the publisher confirmed the same program and the game would have been done. By that moment it seemed to be out of danger, the technical part was set and we could concentrate resources more on structural renovations.
2011, the nightmare:
instead the worst was yet to come. First the long managerial silence and then the business failure communication leaving us as the only interface with readers and advertisers … for us who were only responsible for the content the thankless task for months and months of having to justify a situation which we were not responsible for. How many times the situation became too heavy and we wanted to leave … the dream seemed to be over and we seemed to find ourselves on a land now razed to the ground …
But why to feel ashamed? For having given our best, for having performed better than expected and having to pay for the mistakes that we did not commit?
2012, the dream is back:
from these questions the will to try it again has reborn with the project RIWmag!
At first the project was supposed to be more modest because of the limited resources available. But then they were just the editors and contributors to want to commit without considering resource constraints because they wanted to live, as true professionals, the pleasure to offer just what the project needed and that was how RIWmag started to live its own life …
2013, the dream goes on stage:
from January 21st to December 19th we published more than 950 articles that have ranged from the technical subjects to the tech news, from the reports of the events, to interviews at both national and international levels in all disciplines of windsurfing, with original and self-produced content. More than 750 pic galleries and over 5900 photos have enriched our contents. In 2013 we got covered all the national and international events of all “funboard” and class disciplines.
The American Windsurfing Tour has officially recognized RIWmag as Italian representative to cover the Aloha Classic 2013 JP (www.facebook.com/AmericanWindsurfingTour/posts/746757935340922).
In its first 11 months RIWmag has exceeded: 44,000 unique visitors, 87,000 visits, 150,000 page views.
E.P., head of RIWmag: “I would really like to thank everyone for this incredible result!
Readers, athletes, editors, collaborators, photographers, distributors, Companies from industry and all advertisers (AL360, Quatro, Goya, CitySurf, NoveNove, ClubeKauliSeadi, Flymount Italy, MaverX, NetsurfingSport, NonSoloMute, Radikal, RRD, SaBarra, Kites Gaastra, Tabou, WhiteReef, North Sails, Fanatic, Marco Baiocchi, NST, SEATEXBOARDS, Hibiscus Escola de Surf) that this year they have accompanied and supported us giving us this amazing opportunity!
In recent weeks we are working on the 2014 programs: stay tuned, we will do our best for you to be always worthwhile!
In any case, we are now all on the doorstep of the holiday season: it’s time to rest and gather with the family for the RIWmag team too which goes on holidays for 2 weeks.
I take this opportunity to send you and your families all the best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a New Year’s Eve overly positive, whatever you do, wherever and with whoever you are! ”
