The iQFoil International Youth Games started in Torbole
iQFoil Youth and Junior International Games started in Torbole
Italy immediately ahead in the men's and women's youth with Manolo Modena and Sofia Renna
Second in the under 17 Francesca Maria Salerno from Palermo, while leading in the same category the Israeli Adiran and the Spanish Tomas Cardell


Record numbers started on Sunday 31 July in Torbole, on Garda Trentino, iQFoil Youth & Junior International Games, third stage (after Cadiz and Campione) of this international circuit of the new Olympic class organized on this occasion for the youth categories (under 19) and junior (under 17) by Circolo Surf Torbole in collaboration with the international class and the Italian Sailing Federation. Participation therefore very high with 161 athletes from about thirty nations, including Australia, Argentina, Messico, Singapore, Peru.


Sunday afternoon, first day of qualifying regattas, on Garda Trentino there were very light wind conditions from the south, which led the Race Committee to opt for slalom regattas, concluded for the junior male and female categories with three tests, for men's youth only one test and nothing done for women of the same category. In the evening there was the official presentation of the teams with the opening ceremony on the stage of the Circolo Surf Torbole. Monday,, second very intense day with regattas both in the morning at 8:00 with the wind from the north, that in the early afternoon, taking advantage of all the wind possible, this time from the south. Started the major category under 19 with males and females who concluded in the morning 5 course racing in windy conditions on 15-18 nodes, while the juniors entered the water in the early afternoon, disputing 4 course racing, giving space to the youth, who ended this long second day with a slalom, both male and female.


And we come to the rankings, that in the youth category is male, that female are in favor of the Italians and in particular of the home athletes of the Circolo Surf Torbole: Manolo Modena with 4 first as best partial is in the lead ahead of the two British Dixon Charlie and Duncan Monaghan; good sixth for Jacopo Gavioli. Among women under 19 in the lead Sofia Renna, that with 4 first and a third already has 7 points ahead of the Czech Pinosova and the Israeli Millo. In the provisional top ten eighth place for Carola Colasanto (Tognazzi Marine Village). In the category under 17 junior is the Israeli Adiran to lead the fleet, ahead of French Nicolle and Dutch Brüll respectively. Fourth, but first of the under 15, the color bearer of the Circolo Surf Torbole Valentino Blewett. Among the girls is the leader of the ranking Spain with Caterina Tomas Cardell protagonist of 4 first, a quarter and a discarded disqualification; follows the Italian Francesca Maria Salerno (Lauria Palermo); third the cheka lojinova; first under 15, Fifth absolute, the Israeli Partouche.
