Fantastic medal series in Torbole for the conclusion of the iQFoil Youth and Junior International Games
Circolo Surf Torbole awarded the iQFoil Youth and Junior European Championship 2023
With an exciting series of medal series and three-way finals, in which the medal was played with breathtaking arrivals, the iQFoil Youth and Junior International Games have ended, event for youth Olympic boards organized by Circolo Surf Torbole in collaboration with the Italian Sailing Federation, the Garda Trentino Vela Consortium and the International class, who at the end of the award ceremony announced the assignment of the iQFoil European Youth Championships 2023 right at the Circolo Surf Torbole!
The final stages began in the morning at 8 with the youngest juniors (under 17) engaged in quarter-finals, semi-final and final. The wind from the north lasted only until the final of the girls, while for the final under 17 guys had to wait for the wind from the south of the afternoon. As for the regattas I arrive at the heart of the heart with a falling wind and the need to pump in the decisive slalom valid as a final, who decided the podium: victory of francesca Salerno from Palermo (CCLauria), who managed to start well and overcome the Spanish Caterina Tomas Cardell, in the lead throughout the Championship.
Third and first under 15 the Israeli Hila Partouche, who in the U15 podium preceded the Italian Medea Falcioni (SEF Stamura Ancona) and Alice Evangelisti (LNI Civitavecchia). In the afternoon, as soon as the wind has stretched, rotated from the south as usual on the Upper Lake Garda, you are back in the water with the Under finals 17 men on course racing course. It is the only category that has maintained the first two positions, as well as on the eve: victory of the French Tom Nicolle over the Swiss Noam Kobel. Third place went to the Israeli Tomer Adiran. Italian victory instead among the under 15 with the athlete of the Circolo Surf Torbole Mattia Saoncella, first ahead of teammate Valentino Blewett and Turkish Devrim Karatas. very tight regattas among the under 19, where in the male category there was the exclusion of Manolo Modena, disqualified for tonnage irregularities.
After overtaking and counter-overtaking, the two Britons Dixon Charlie and Duncan Monaghan prevailed, finished in order; third place to the DutchMan Hiddle Van Der Meer. Italians at the foot of the podium with Federico Pilloni from Cagliari (Windsaurfing Club Cagliari) fourth and the athlete of the Circolo Surf Torbole Jacopo Gavioli fifth. Even among the women the final was really surprising with a fight on the last flight between the leader Sofia Renna and the Czech Pinosova, who managed before the last jibe to pass the Italian, thus winning the event. The home athlete Renna this time had to settle for a brilliant second place, while on the third step of the podium the Israeli Adi Millo climbed.
It was a complete Championship with slaom regattas, course racing, the marathon and the medal series, who have surprised for the preparation demonstrated by these young athletes, who with the new youth Olympic class seem to already have a great confidence. The commitment of the Circolo Surf Torbole towards youth activity has been rewarded with the assignment of the European Championship 2023, which will be organized by the 3 to 8 July.
