• Peter and Denny: Windsurfing? If you have been for how long and how far you have come?
Willy: I started self-taught in May of 2011, but plano from 3 months….I'm starting to get sick of windsurfing.
Denny: I tried only once and with poor results, but I don't think it will be the last! as soon as I can I throw myself again!
• How the idea of a radio broadcast on extreme sports was born?
Denny: having a passion for radio and both a passion for these sports, We thought it was a good idea to combine the two things in order to involve and inform enthusiasts and not.
• It was difficult to find a radio station interested in such a project?
Denny: no, Luckily for us I work as a DJ / sound engineer in this radio that deals with sports, So proposing a new program with the right requirements was approved with enthusiasm.
• What are the pros and cons of preparing and conducting such a broadcast compared to a more standard broadcast (who does not deal with extreme sports)?
Denny: well let's say that classic broadcasts are easier also because there are more musical interruptions and less “Talked”, In addition, in a classic program, speeches are generally based on everyday events., while a transmission like ours must be prepared and inquired about news, Events and sports talked about, because obviously we don't know them all well, then sometimes we feel lucky and we have guests who make the transmission smoother.
• For a month in your broadcast you had several guests and you were able to deal with different topics related to windsurfing. What is the final idea that you have been able to make of the practice of this sport in Italy?
Willy: after getting to know this sport and those who are part of it, Basically we understood that it is not declining, but well it is in full evolution both as regards the equipment, athletes and enthusiasts in general.
• Now that the month dedicated to windsurfing has ended, What other sports will you cover?
Denny: by’ 8 June we will start with kitesurfing and stay with us for 3/4 Bets, then we will move on to wakeboarding for other 3/4 Bet and then we'll say goodbye for the summer holidays, to resume from September with skateboarding and then…. those who will follow us will know! …for all info: www.facebook.com/freestyler.crew

• Ezio we recently had the opportunity to hear you on the frequencies of Radio Milan-Inter. How this event was born?
E.P.: It was the guys from Freestyler who contacted us via facebook. I immediately made myself available and after a few days we spoke on the phone. I think the first phone call was a sort of selection by their editorial staff to make sure that each person initially contacted was suitable for the style of the broadcast and the objectives set..
• What attracted you to launch into such an unusual experience?
E.P.: Before the first phone call there was a strong curiosity to understand what it was. Then the idea of being able to talk about windsurfing to an audience not strictly specialized. Unfortunately these are rare occasions for windsurfing, do not happen often in Italy. Opportunities to be taken absolutely on the fly. Obviously being guests of a radio broadcast is certainly pleasing to everyone but what I wanted most was to try to share my passion for windsurfing with all the radio listeners.
• How you lived this experience?
E.P.: With emotion and enthusiasm. For years I have been concerned with preparing interviews with the different windsurfing characters and for the first time I found myself in the role of the interviewee, A very funny situation. I was afraid of being held back by emotion, The rhythms of the printed paper are absolutely different from those of a live radio. For me it was really a great honor to have had the opportunity to share my experience with such a wide audience.!
• Anecdotes happened during the broadcast?
E.P.: eh well, Yes! It was a bit eventful episode. I got home earlier than usual so that I was ready for the start of the broadcast despite knowing that I would be passing in the second half of the episode. I was listening to streaming radio from the internet when the connection broke. Initially I was afraid it was a problem with my computer, But then I realized that I still had the internet connection and that many other users were writing on the Facebook page of the transmission reporting my same problem. Then I started chatting with the guys on the show who reassured me. Shortly before the beginning of my speech, the line was restored., everything seemed solved and so at the appropriate time I turned off the streaming to avoid problems with telephone echo and we started calling each other. But that's not all.: Due to a mishap in the telephone lines we could not establish the line! The song to separate the space between the first and second guest was finished and I was not yet connected and so the editorial staff started a second song. Then we finally succeeded in our intent, I was on the air! Once I heard the announcement of my name live, I no longer thought about the setbacks suffered and focused on what was going to happen to me.. I must say that on the radio they were then super nice because to recover they went well beyond the expected time! Thanks again guys!
• In hindsight what would you do differently at the same time as this experience?
E.P.: In hindsight everything is easier but when you have to do something for the first time nothing is taken for granted and you have to start somewhere with the awareness of being able to make mistakes. Next time, if there will be an opportunity, I will try to pay more attention to radio timing and how to formulate certain answers: Sometimes questions cause you to follow a certain path that can make the answers more complicated. With more peace of mind and more time to think, everything is easier.
• What is your final balance?
E.P.: definitely positive, when they invite me again? Joking aside I really want to thank Radio Milan-Inter and the guys of Freestyler, Willy and Denny, not only for inviting me but also and above all for having dedicated for a month the space of their transmission to windsurfing. I want to thank Willy in particular, with whom before the broadcast I spoke by phone several times: he was very kind and helpful making me feel immediately at ease despite the idea of live radio (via streaming even nationwide) could scare especially the first time.
• It is a format that can have a future, as an expert in the windsurfing sector? Maybe for a greater promotion of the discipline, especially among young people?
E.P.: This is everyone's hope and goal, both those who host the broadcast and the guests. By definition, the programme is already aimed at a young audience interested in alternative sports.: So we should already be on the right track.
